I am what I make

I am what I make

I want to express my appreciation for anyone that stopped by my booth at the Renegade to show their love for the work. The fellow tradesmen and tradeswomen that know the process, difficulty and patience bending wood requires have provided me with great feedback. I have much to do in the coming months to improve the product line and technique.

When I look at a piece of wood, I see the beauty in the woods "imperfections", the knots and splits, the dents and asymmetry, even the splinters and wormholes. I am reminded that like any piece of wood, we are not perfect and polished (regardless of appearances). When I bend a piece of wood, I sometimes seek out irregularities in the grain and all its imperfect glory. Perhaps I am projecting, who knows. I do know that a little of me is in each piece of finished product.
